CarPilot is a smart driving dashboard for the time you spend behind the wheel, with warnings for published enforcement points in Taiwan.
Mount your iPhone and see speed, heading, smoothness, g-force, altitude, weather and trip data at a glance — every reading laid out to be read in the moment.
Speed camera and enforcement point warnings (Taiwan only)
While you drive in Taiwan, CarPilot warns you before you reach a published enforcement point:
• Fixed speed cameras
• Red-light cameras
• Junction enforcement cameras
• Average-speed (interval) enforcement sections — entering, your average along it, and leaving
• Designated freeway violation-recording spots
Warnings are shown on screen and spoken aloud. The voice comes through with the screen locked or a navigation app in front, and ducks music rather than talking over it. Keep the on-screen warning and turn the voice off, or turn it all off.
The points come from the open data published by Taiwan's National Police Agency and the municipal police departments under the Open Government Data License, plus our own road-tested positions and directions, so the opposite carriageway stays quiet.
It is a reminder, not a guarantee: the data can be out of date or incomplete, and a road that is not listed is not a road without enforcement. CarPilot exists to help you **stay inside the limit**, not to evade enforcement — always go by the signs and the law in front of you.
Outside Taiwan no enforcement data is available, so nothing is shown and nothing is spoken.
The numbers that matter, at a glance
CarPilot keeps making sense of the GPS and motion data your device already collects:
• Live speed
• Posted limit and over-speed warning
• Heading and bearing
• Ride smoothness
• G-force
• Altitude and climb
• Elapsed time
• Current weather
• GPS status and position
Three dashboard layouts suit the moment — an ordinary road, a long trip, or a track off the tarmac. A quick panel pulls up from the bottom edge while you drive: layout, colours and four switches, one swipe away.
Speed limits and the over-speed warning
CarPilot shows the limit for the stretch you are on, and the figure changes colour when you go past it. You can switch on a spoken warning and choose how far over the limit it waits. Switch it off and the limit keeps showing, it simply stops warning you.
Limits come from public road data covering Taiwan's freeways, expressways and main city roads. Where there is no data, no limit is shown and nothing is warned.
Live traffic on freeways and expressways (Taiwan only)
On a freeway or expressway, CarPilot watches how fast traffic is running a few kilometres ahead and says so when it is slower than where you are — lift off early instead of braking when the lights come into view. The speeds come from the Ministry of Transportation's public 1968 service, and the request carries no position of yours. Switchable in Settings.
Share where you are
During a trip you can hand out a temporary link showing where you are, so the people waiting know roughly how long you will be. The dashboard says so the whole time, you can stop it whenever you like, and it expires when the trip ends, or after 12 hours.
Every drive is worth a second look
When a trip ends, CarPilot turns it into a complete record:
• Smoothness score
• Route travelled
• Distance and time
• Average and top speed
• Total climb
• Peak g-force
• How smoothness changed along the way
So you know not just how long you drove, but how the drive went.
Your trips, filed automatically
CarPilot keeps your past trips, with total distance, total time, the score for each one and the full detail behind it.
Safety notice
Speed, position, heading, limits, enforcement points, weather, attitude and every other reading CarPilot shows are for reference only, and can be wrong or incomplete. Always defer to road signs, traffic law, your vehicle's own instruments and what you can see, and do not operate your phone while driving.
