Greatness is Cope 2’s second book that provides an extensive survey of Cope 2’s works through vibrant and colorful images, as well as an introduction, essay detailing his biography and art. Cope 2, a true legend who originated from the New York’s graffiti underground scene during the subway era of the late 1970s and early 1980, opens up on the important questions and issues concerning his art and life, such as the predecessors who inspired him and the Darwinian environment of competition among the graffiti writers to even the use of color in his art. Now a globally exhibiting blue-chip artist and a tour de force in the graffiti and gallery scene, Cope 2, walks through the maze of terrains as only he can, as a true New Yorker, to unfold the story of his art and life that is an important part of the legitimate canon of graffiti.
