das vienna institute for international dialogue and cooperation (vidc) dient der förderung einer kritischen öffentlichkeit und eines internationalen dialogs auf augenhöhe. es wurde 1962 von bruno kreisky als think tank für globale fragen der entwicklungspolitik gegründet. das institut besteht aus den drei abteilungen vidc global dialogue, kulturen in bewegung und fairplay initiative. vidc global dialogue will durch diskurse über demokratie, menschenrechte, gender und migration sowie internationale wirtschafts- und finanzpolitik die internationale wie auch die österreichische realität reflektieren, kritische ansätze von solidarität präsentieren und zivilgesellschaftlichen bewegungen des nahen und mittleren ostens und subsahara afrikas in österreich gehör verschaffen. kulturen in bewegung beschäftigt sich mit kulturaustausch, initiiert festivals, ausstellungen, austauschprojekte, workshops und lesungen, vermittelt künstler*innen und ist beratend bei der durchführung interkultureller projekte tätig. die fairplay initiative arbeitet als schnittstelle für vermittlungsarbeit und vernetzungstätigkeiten; für emanzipatorische und partizipative initiativen, fungiert sie als anlauf- und beratungsstelle sowie als kompetenzzentrum in sachen antidiskriminierung und diversität im sport. beim vidc geht es um: entwicklungspolitische organisation; eza österreich; eza; österreichische entwicklungspolitik; entwicklungszusammenarbeit; entwicklungspolitik; internationale zusammenarbeit; gender; flucht; migration; afrika; china; afghanistan, osten; wirtschaft; demokratie; menschenrechte; vidc; vienna institute; entwicklungszusammenarbeit österreich
