92%Frequently Asked Questions Can I have a swatch of the fabric? Yes of course you can. Please just drop me a note with the fabric you wish to have a swatch of and I can get it to you. I require £2.50 to cover postage, and you can order 4 swatches per £2.50. Purchasing a swatch is a good idea because although we try to provide accurate photographs of our fabrics the colours can vary on different monitors How should I care for my fabrics? We advise you to wash all of your fabrics prior to cutting and sewing with them. All fabrics will shrink a little bit in the wash, and by pre-washing them this will ensure that you get the perfect fit. We recommend you to wash your fabrics at a 30 degree wash (some fabrics may require special washing instructions, in that case it will say in the fabric description, for example wool fabrics we recommend for them to be dry cleaned only). However, every washing machine does differ, so it is your responsibility to test wash any fabrics that you purchase from usPlease note that Merchant and Mills hand dyed indigo fabrics require special care. It is advised that for the first wash to place the fabric in the washing machine drum at 30/40 degrees with a handful of table salt. This will fix the dye to prevent it running, however Indigo will continue to get lighter over time as it will never truly fix. What number do I put in the quantity box? Our fabrics are listed and sold in half metre increments. You will need to add 2 in the quantity box to purchase 1 metre, and so on. Would you be able to purchase a specific fabric for me? This depends on the fabric that you are after, but it is always worth asking so please drop us an email harriet@sewmesunshine.co.uk I do not live in the UK, will you be able to deliver fabrics to me? All of our products can be delivered worldwide, please refer to the Delivery and Returns page for more information about shipping costs Can I visit you in person? MIMO BIB (English and French tutorial included) FOUR REVERSIBLE BIBS SIZE NEWBORN TO 6 YEARS LEVEL: BEGINNER The MIMO pattern is a reversible bib, available in four sizes. With its timeless design, this pattern is an essential piece that you can make over and over again. The tutorial below will show you how to make a seamless bib in two different styles. The small bib can be done as a standard bib or a scallop bib for babies and the medium and large are standard bibs suitable for toddlers. All four bibs have the same neckline and fit most children from newborn to 6 years. RECOMMENDED FABRICS From light-weight to heavy-weight linen, lyocell, silk noile, soft cotton shirting, cotton cheesecloth, cotton voile, hemp, flannelette, corduroy, velvet, denim, any soft, natural woven fabrics with a good drape. Avoid fabrics that are too thick and too stiff if you are making the scallop version. If your fabric is lightweight and thin, I recommend using interfacing or wadding. You can also add a layer of waterproof fabric inside to prevent the bib from being soiled on both sides. This pattern is perfect for any embroidery design you may have in mind ! FABRIC USAGE Less than half a meter is all you need for this pattern depending on your choice of inner lining. This project is great to use any remnant pieces of fabrics you may have in your stash. Please note: Make sure your fabric is washed before cutting. NOTIONS - Fabric - Matching t

78%After buying her first sewing machine from Jaycott's, Hanan Tantush is a force to be reckoned with in the world of adaptive fashion, winning awards left, right, and centre for her groundbreaking work with her brand, Intotum, www.intotumfashion.com, she was named in the Drapers 30 under 30 list earlier this year and she is still just 22 years old.As the visionary behind the brand, she has redefined what inclusive clothing can be—fusing style, practicality, and innovation to create designs that truly empower. Her passion, talent, and unwavering commitment to accessibility have not only earned her industry recognition but have also made a real difference in people’s lives. With every accolade, she continues to push boundaries, proving that fashion should be for everyone, without compromise. We caught up with Hanan and got to ask her the important questions that we were all eager to know: Intotum Fashion offers innovative adaptive clothing designs. Can you share the story behind the brand's inception and what motivated you to focus on adaptive fashion? I started sewing when I was 10, I was always obsessed with fashion and knew I wanted to be a designer. But the spark for Intotum came from my grandad. He survived cancer multiple times and needed a stoma and urostomy bag as a result. He began to struggle with clothing that simply wasn’t designed with his needs in mind; trousers were too tight and pushed on the bag or hindered access to it. Watching him navigate those challenges made me realise how much of an impact clothing can have on someone’s confidence and independence as he became more reclusive with all his options taken away from him. I wanted to create a solution that addressed those gaps — where people didn’t have to choose between comfort, style, and functionality. That idea to actually turn this into a brand and a business grew as I started working with the wider disabled community, hearing similar frustrations — whether they use wheelchairs, have limb differ

73%Discover buttons of all shapes, sizes, and styles, perfect for every sewing project. The majority of our stock is actually vintage or deadstock, though we don’t always label them as such—loose buttons rarely come with a date! We specialise in sourcing clearance and overstock buttons, from UK supplies, rather than importing newly manufactured stock. The UK once had a thriving button and fastener industry, but with so little now made here, these buttons are truly limited finds. Once they’re gone, they’re gone—so grab them while you can!
