The Basket Weave Quilt Throw is unique because the beautiful fray of rag stitching is displayed on both the front side and the back side of this throw! This pattern takes a simple three panel block concept and uses color and layout to create a basket weave effect which is beautiful. The blocks are laid out in a diagonal design and half blocks are used on the edges to create a simplified rectangle shape. Approximate size of finished throw: 64" x 88" The unique approach of this pattern is that the inner block pieces are not frayed and the outer block edges ARE frayed. This helps emphasize the crisscross of the basket weave design. The back of each block is a solid piece of fabric which can either be all one fabric or alternated with two fabrics to create a checkerboard look as shown in our pictures. This pattern is easy level but not recommended for a first time project for a beginner.
