UPDATE 09/02/25 Hey all, things are slow going, but they’re still going. If you’ve been a long time reader, you will remember, waaaaaaay back, when I got my older laptop (not my current one) and switched away from my janky ancient desktop computer, I lost the entirety of our first book’s PSD files, as well as chapters after that. I managed to recover a lot of the first book (caveat: what I recovered were art-flattened versions of the original page, with only the text and word balloons separated), as well as later chapters that I had backed up on an external drive, but the one thing I didn’t manage to recover back then was about 22 seemingly random pages from chapter 15. I initially thought I had recovered them, but when I went to open one back at the beginning of the pandemic to get an art asset, I discovered that a huge chunk of the chapter had been corrupted, and the original files contained a single layer that was filled with solid black. The good news is that, because I had been sharing the line-art for patrons, I had the entire chapter’s clean line art on a flat purple background in a folder. The bad news was that those files were only 1100 pixels wide, but the best news of all, maybe, is that I made this discovery 5 years ago and used those line art files as guides for completely redrawing those pages and colouring them back during the pandemic! Aaaand then my old laptop died! So what does this mean? Those pages are redrawn, safe and backed up in multiple places! But they are not lettered, are getting some minor re-writes and need the balloons redrawn, which is what is holding me up. I have been trying to get this one, specific task done for the past month, but multiple people in this house have had medical emergencies, and just like that I haven’t been able to touch my computer for like 2 weeks. Nobody’s been having a good time, but hopefully, now that the school year has commenced, I can finally get back to a normal schedule and get these out of the way. As

My imagination gives me hope and allows me to dream big... Our imagination is a gift, a very precious gift one that when not used can be lost to us. We forget how powerful a gift it can be. So maybe playing outside, or with legos, blocks, action figures, is ok. It is a gift that can push us forward and help us solve complex issues and most importantly make life enjoyable. So dream big, embrace your imagination and let the adventure always move you forward. This piece is also part of a very special project called the sunday's comic project.
