Our first hospice - Hope House in Oswestry - opened in 1995 and our second hospice - Tŷ Gobaith in Conwy - in 2004. You can read more about our origins, and how our services have developed to meet the needs of local children and families, here.  What do you do? Our purpose is to ensure that every child with a life-threatening condition, and their family, can live their best lives. We support more than 750 children and their families who live in Shropshire, Cheshire,  and across Wales. We provide respite care in our two hospices. The impact of caring for a child with a life-threatening condition affects the whole family. Our help enables families to take a much needed short break from their round-the-clock caring routine. Our neonatal support helps families whose baby has been diagnosed with a complex or life-threatening condition during pregnancy, who has been born with a life-threatening condition or who has sadly died. Our end of life care for a child or young person includes symptom management and additional support for family members and carers before, during and after death. It can take place in our hospices or at home, and we do everything possible to meet the whole family's needs and wishes during this very difficult time.  Immediate care after death is here for any child or young person who has died in any circumstances such as from an accident or sudden illness. We have the equipment and the skills so that families can spend time saying goodbye in their own way and in their own time. Our counselling service and bereavement support is available to families registered with Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith.  We also provide family support for mums, dads, brothers and sisters, and grandparents equipping them with the skills and resources they need when living with a child with a life-threatening condition.
