No. How big is The Texas Center?  Building 53—or as we like to call it on campus “Area 53”—is a 1960s vintage stacked stone building originally designed as the campus clinic. While charming, it is small, having only 2,500 sq. ft. Our impact and reach, though, is statewide. Can we visit the Texas Center? Yes, but . . . We have hosted small groups (think under 20 folks) in our facility and there is interesting art, books, and artifacts on site, it is really an office complex. We look forward to the day when we have a more Texas-sized facility to host gatherings, educational events, and livestream classes. That remains for the future at this point. Why does The Texas Center need an endowment? Endowments are like individuals who have a 401(K) or investment account. The money we put in the bank yields interest revenue which we use to fund operations and programming. It ensures a level of income that allows our creative efforts to be channeled toward our educational mission instead of constantly having to raise money. Why are you seeking annual operating funds?
