Mycoverse is a mushroom app for trip planning and private finding locations.
Do you know where to look for mushrooms this weekend?
Mycoverse shows which areas have conditions worth trying right now - based on recent rain, season, forest type and terrain. And your finds stay yours alone.
MUSHROOM RADAR
The mushroom radar combines rainfall over recent weeks, temperature, forest type, habitat and each species' season. You get a mushroom map of areas worth a trip, with a clear explanation of why - not just a colour on a map.
Look seven days ahead so you can plan the trip around conditions instead of hoping.
PRIVATE FIND LOG
Mushroom spots are not shared. Full stop.
Save your finds with location, photos and notes. Everything stays private. No other user sees where you pick, and your locations are never sold to advertisers.
After a couple of seasons you have your own record of where chanterelles come up first, which slope gives porcini after rain, and which spots disappoint every year. That knowledge is worth more than any app can give you - we just make sure you don't lose it.
ALL YEAR, NOT JUST AUTUMN
Most people think mushroom season runs August to October. It doesn't.
Velvet shank, oyster mushrooms and other species appear right through the cold months, and the conditions that drive them are just as measurable. Mycoverse tracks each species' season year-round, so you know when it's worth going out - in November and February too.
BERRIES AND WILD PLANTS
Mushrooms aren't the only thing growing out there. Mycoverse also covers berries and useful wild plants, with the same approach: where and when conditions are right. Cloudberries, bilberries, lingonberries and a range of wild plants are included, so the app earns its place from early summer through the whole foraging season.
WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
Forests rarely have good coverage. Download the area before you leave, log finds offline, and sync when you're back in range.
TRIP PLANNING
Route guidance to the area you picked, trails from public map data, and a field brief you can read before you walk in.
SPECIES GUIDE
Species overviews with habitat, season and the kind of forest they favour, with cited sources and licensed photography.
WHAT MYCOVERSE IS NOT
Mycoverse is not an identification app. We don't photograph your mushroom and guess the species, and we give no advice on what is safe to eat. That judgement is yours, and an expert's if you're in any doubt.
We also don't promise you'll find mushrooms. No app can. What we do is cut down the wasted trips, so more of your days in the forest are days when the conditions are actually there.
FREE AND PREMIUM
The free version gives you the mushroom radar, the map and a find log with room for your first finds.
Premium unlocks unlimited finds, all seven days of the radar, every species you want to follow, and alerts when conditions change in your areas.
Mycoverse is built in Fredrikstad, Norway, by a forager who got tired of driving an hour to find dry woods.
