i grew up in peoria, illinois and went to college in illinois and colorado before coming to eugene in 1973 to attend the u of o, where i completed an education degree in 1976. what attracted me to eugene was partly to finish college, but mostly it was the proximity to the mountains, ocean and clean rivers of western oregon. i became involved in the outdoor program and spent almost every weekend and every vacation for several years climbing, backpacking and rafting. this culminated in a 10 day rafting/clean-up trip on the main salmon river in idaho and a 60 day climbing expedition to denali in alaska. see www.denalidiary.com after graduating, teaching jobs were scarce in eugene, and i started building homes and became a general contractor. i was building custom homes in the south hills of eugene when the recession of the early 80s put a stop to home building. in 1986, i became a partner in le peitit gourmet bakery in the original oasis market and we grew along with oasis into one of the most popular food markets in eugene. along the way, i fathered three sons, who have now grown to adulthood with different stories including college, jobs and marriage. i left the bakery in 1996 after ten years and became a realtor, which i have done now for over 15 years. in 2000 linda dawn, who was my girl friend in high school came back into my life, and we have been married now for almost twelve years. we have enjoyed five trips to europe together and built a custom home in sw eugene, where we have lived since 2004. when i'm not working with clients, you might find me either riding my bicycle on the bike paths along the willamette river, swimming lengths at the ymca pool or hiking to the top of spencer's butte. i have put my varied experiences in construction, business ownership and real estate sales to help many people either sell or purchase their home. i’ve always strived for win-win situations wherever possible. what is most important to me is that my clients are happy with my
