MelDEV Lake Nav is a small chart plotter currently only for lake: Bäsingen in Avesta. The chart is drawn as vectors — depth bands, contours, rocks and marks — so it stays sharp at any zoom, and all of it works offline. No account, no subscription, nothing to log in to. DEPTH UNDER THE BOAT The readout interpolates between 1 850 soundings taken off the chart, and it always shows what it is based on: how far away the nearest sounding is, how many are around you, and how much to trust the number. If something shallower lies within a few hundred metres, it says so. TODAY'S WATER LEVEL Bäsingen is regulated, so the water rarely stands exactly where the chart was drawn. Dial the level in Settings and every depth moves with it — the readout, the shallow warnings, and every figure printed on the chart. Spots that have gone dry are shown as dry. SPEED AND TRACKS Speed over ground in knots, km/h or m/s, and a course-up chart while under way. Press Record to log a trip; it keeps recording with the screen off. ROUTES YOU CAN DRAW Tap the map to lay down a route, then drag a point to move it, tap the handle on a leg to insert one, or delete the ones you do not want. Follow a route in either direction and the app holds you on the line with a steer bearing, distance to go and an off-course bar. Any recorded track can be turned into an editable route in one step. WAYPOINTS Mark a spot with its charted depth and name it. Trips are then named after the waypoints they run between — "Utsund to Klubbholmen" — so a track is recognisable months later.
