Calcium Sulfate is used in brewing to promote smoother-tasting beer with improved stability, a longer shelf-life, and during certain parts of the fermentation process. It is also a stabilizer, thickener, pH control agent, and tablet binder. The pharmaceutical industry uses calcium sulfate as supplemental calcium in its products.  As an ingredient in personal care products, Calcium Sulfate is used mainly in cosmetics to add viscosity to products without the use of additional oils. It is also and excellent binder for dry cosmetic products. You may find this ingredient in products such as face powder, toothpaste, nail polish, bronzer, blush, facial moisturizer, eye shadow and lip gloss.
