Radford Safe app analytics for January 15

Radford Safe is the official safety app of Radford University. It is the only app that integrates with Radford University's safety and security systems. The Department of Public Safety has worked to develop a unique app that provides students, faculty and staff with added safety on the Radford University campus. The app will send you important safety alerts and provide instant access to campus safety resources. Radford Safe features include: Mobile Bluelight • Send your location and connect to Radford University Police in real-time in case of a crisis. Work Alone / Study Alone • This feature will automatically check in on you while working or studying alone and can automatically trigger a call to your Personal Contact or Campus Security if you fail to check in at the pre-determined time. Virtual Police Walk / Friend Walk • Virtual Police Walk: Allow Radford University Police to monitor a user’s walk. If a user feels unsafe when walking on campus, they can request a Virtual Police Walk and a dispatcher on the other end will monitor their journey until they reach their destination. • Friend Walk: Send your location to a friend through email or SMS on your device. Once the friend accepts the Friend Walk request, the user picks their destination and their friend tracks their location in real time; they can keep an eye on them to make sure they make it safely to their destination. Tip Reporting • Multiple ways to report a safety/security concern directly to Radford University Police. • Tips can be submitted anonymously to Radford University Police. Emergency Contacts • Contact the correct services for the Radford University area in case of an emergency or a non-emergency concern. Safety Toolbox • Enhance your safety with the set of tools provided in one convenient app. • Chat with RUPD: Communicate live with Radford University Police Department Dispatch Center via chat. • Notification History: Find previous Push Notifications for this app with the date and time. • I’m OK!: Send your location and a message indicating that "You’re OK" to a recipient of your choosing. • Emergency Preparedness: Learn how to prepare yourself for an emergency by following several easy steps. Emergency Plans • Campus emergency documentation that can prepare you for disasters or emergencies. This can be accessed even when users aren’t connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data. Campus Maps • Campus Map: Navigate around the Radford University area. • Building List: Click on the name of building you are trying to locate and pull up directions from your location through the app. • AED Map: Locate Automated External Defibrillator (AED) around campus. • Transit Map: Find transit routes currently in service. Support Resources • Access support resources in one convenient app to enjoy a successful experience at Radford University. RUPD Vehicle Assist • Lock your keys in your car? Battery died and need a jump start? Contact RUPD through the app to request assistance.
