Tired of Google’s AI-powered "Overview" panel cluttering your search results? Smpl is a lightweight Safari extension that restores the classic Google Search layout and fixes common annoyances. No more confusing AI summaries or distracting suggestions.
Key features:
- Disable Google’s AI Overview and extra suggestions. Tap the "All" tab to view other Knowledge Panels when needed.
- Automatically open search results in a new tab.
- Hide trending searches from Google's homepage.
- Automatically open Reddit links in Narwhal.
- Hide the Reddit login prompt on the mobile website.
- Redirect X/Twitter links to XCancel.
How it works:
- Install the app and enable the Safari extension.
- Open the extension popup and toggle the features you want to use.
- Conduct Google searches as usual.
- Smpl adds a URL parameter (udm=14) to send searches directly to the Web tab, bypassing the AI Overview.
- Tap “All” anytime to view Knowledge Panels (weather, quick facts, etc.).
Smpl is built and maintained by a solo indie developer, ensuring it stays lightweight, reliable, and up-to-date. If you love Smpl, please consider leaving a rating or review. For questions or feedback, tap the Contact link within the Smpl app.
