Doodliqo is a colouring book and first-letters game for young children — the kind of app you can hand to a three-year-old without hovering over them. TWO WAYS TO COLOUR Tap a numbered area and it fills with that colour. Or pick up the brush and draw freely: the paint stops at the lines all by itself, so a picture is never spoiled and nobody has to start again. Thirty-five pictures across animals, vehicles and everyday things — a cat, a fire truck, a lighthouse, a dinosaur, a hot-air balloon — and rainbow, sparkle and spotty brushes to colour them in with. LETTERS AND NUMBERS, WRITTEN PROPERLY A to Z and 0 to 9. The letter is shown on a small card, the page is blank with a writing line, and your child copies it themselves — there is no stencil to trace over. Doodliqo looks at the shape they drew and gently asks for another go until it is right, so a letter gets practised until it is properly formed. Every letter says its sound as well as its name, and then shows a word it begins. B says buh. B is for Butterfly — and the butterfly is right there to colour in. SPOKEN ALL THE WAY THROUGH Tap red and it says "red". Finish a picture and it spells the name out, one letter at a time. Write a number and count that many apples together. Nothing a child needs is hidden in writing they cannot read yet, and every button says what it is when you tap it. FIVE GAMES Matching pairs, a find-the-picture listening game, letter sounds, a colour hunt and jigsaw puzzles — all built from the same pictures they have been colouring. THEY KEEP WHAT THEY MAKE Finished pictures are saved to a gallery to look at again, and every picture coloured turns into a sticker for the sticker park. MADE FOR SMALL HANDS Big buttons.
