CPR assistant. ProSMP app analytics for December 27

The "CPR assistant" app is designed to help healthcare providers perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation. It is based on the guidelines of the European Resuscitation Council and quite similar to the recommendations of the American Heart Association. This application can be launched both on a phone running Android OS and on a smartwatch running Wear OS. The algorithm of the apps for the phone and for the smartwatch is absolutely the same. The app contains three sections of patient age groups: newborns, children and adults. After age selection it will switch to the appropriate algorithm. The app is built on several independent timers. It will remind you by voice to prepare for critical stages of resuscitation, the need to give drugs or assess the heart rhythm. In addition to sound prompts, the timer will change color (green-orange-red). To restart the timer, you need to long-press the corresponding button on the screen. Depending on the selected age group, the metronome will start at a rate of 110 per minute and cycles of 30/2, 15/2 or 3/1. The last 5 metronome beeps are played in a different tone so that the medic is ready to deliver a breath. The metronome sound can be turned off if, for example, you start performing mechanical comressions. If the corresponding button is pressed, when airway secured (LMA, ETT) and mechanical ventilation is provided independently of the compressions, the “breath” voice prompts and pauses for breaths are turned off. Hints for additional activities are displayed on the screen. This is a reminder of reversible causes (4T/4H) or additional procedures in the delivery room. After 30 minutes (10 minutes for newborn), the app will remind you of the duration of resuscitation. This will help re-evaluate the effectiveness of the CPR and make a decision about it continuation or termination. The application records all actions in memory and after completion of resuscitation provides a report. The entries in the report are prepared for copying and filling out the electronic medical card. They contain time stamps for starting the app, administering medications and performing other procedures. The report is saved and available in the "History" tab even after closing the application. If you use the app on a smartwatch running Wear OS, the history from the watch can be synced with the app on your phone. This way, the reports from the watch won't get lost and will also be available for copying and pasting to the patient's electronic records. The “CPR assistant” app is an excellent tool that will help a physician in real time to provide CPR in accordance with ERC (AHA) guidelines, will tell what and when to do and will significantly speed up the completion of medical documentation. This will lead to an improvement in the quality of resuscitation care, increase patient survival and facilitate the work of the physician. Despite the convenient and clear layout of the interface elements, we recommend you to test the app on your device before you need it in a real clinical situation. You should remember that this application is just a tool that cannot replace knowledge and experience.
