Mock Accident Simulation at Butler High School Reinforces Safe Driving Choices The scenario shown in the video below is a staged mock accident simulation conducted at Butler High School. No one was injured. Each year, this semi-annual event brings together students, school staff, and local emergency responders to demonstrate how quickly life can change when poor decisions are combined with driving. Through a realistic and coordinated response, students see firsthand the potential consequences of distracted or impaired driving. The 2026 simulation featured student actors from Butler High School and included participation from multiple agencies across Bates County. From first responders to school leadership, each group plays a role in creating an experience that is both impactful and educational. For Bates County Memorial Hospital, participation in this event is an opportunity to support student safety while strengthening partnerships with the agencies who serve our community every day. We are grateful to all who helped plan and carry out this year’s simulation, including Adrian Fire, Butler Fire, Butler Police, Bates County Sheriff’s Office, Bates County Coroner, BCMH Ambulance Services, Butler High School, LifeFlight Eagle, and Douty’s Tow.
