These lovely wools have been dyed using natural materials - specifically madder root, goldenrod, and walnut.  A few years back, we spent one full autumn season collecting and preparing dyes from Walnuts and Goldenrod in our local area. That same winter, we spent time using some of those extracts, as well as dye from purchased Madder roots to give color to some of our medium weight and fingering weight 100% wool yarns. These dyes are much more variable than the synthetic dyes that we use most of the time so dye lots vary quite a bit. We have repeated this process over a few years, and each batch of collections also produces a slightly different color - similar to a wine vintage, our dyes respond to the changing annual environment! It is interesting to note that Madder Root produces a much more vivid color than either the Goldenrod or Walnut.  This yarn is available in three different weights: Fingering Weight - 4 oz/450 yd Sport Weight - 2 oz (Limited Run) Worsted Weight - 4 oz/250 yd
