In 1937, Franz Ehrlich, a former student at the Bauhaus Dessau, was sent to Buchenwald concentration camp as a political prisoner. During his imprisonment, he designed the famous inscription “Jedem das Seine” (“To Each His Own”) at the camp gate. After his release in 1939, he worked as an architect for the SS.

The official app of the Museum of Forced Labour under National Socialism in Weimar.
Forced labour was the most public crime under National Socialism. The museum shows its entire dynamic and its course against a broad historical and thematic panorama: from the seizure of power in 1933 to the reparation debates of the present day, from the exploitation of forced labourers in German-occupied Europe to their deportation to the German Reich by the millions.
With 27 stations, the app offers an informative tour of the permanent exhibition, which covers over 2,000 square metres. The focus is on the relationships between Germans and forced labourers and their scope for action.
The app was created by the Museum Zwangsarbeit im Nationalsozialismus in cooperation with itour city guide GmbH. Further information can be found at www.museum-zwangsarbeit and www.itour.de.
