So that you experience how incredibly close the front lines were to one other and how dense the trench network was. The landscape still bears many traces of the war, yet often these are only visible to trained eyes. Now that the last personal witnesses of the Great War have passed away, the landscape is the very last witness to this tragic period in the Westhoek.
