The free Cheese Trails app guides hikers along the historic cheese trade routes through the Vaud and Fribourg Pre-Alps and helps them make the most of their visit to the Gruyère Pays-d'Enhaut Regional Nature Park. There are two hiking trails covered by the app: the Gruyère AOP trail and the L’Etivaz AOP trail. Both follow the old trade routes used in the 17th and 18th centuries to transport cheese over the Col de Jaman mountain pass. They run from Les Avants to Charmey, L’Etivaz or Rougemont, and together have a total of 21 stages, with walking times ranging from 1 to 4 hours. All are accessible by public transport.
