Turn GIFs, videos, and even your live camera into retro pixel animations built entirely from characters. Import from Photos or shoot with the live camera, and every pixel is redrawn as a character: dense where it's bright, sparse where it's dark. Drag the slider to change the grain in real time; swap the character set and the whole texture changes. FOUR RENDER MODES - Luminance: the classic look, maps chars by brightness - Dither: binary halftone, retro newsprint texture - Edge: Sobel outlines drawn with / | - \ - Braille HD: 2x4 dots per cell, 8x the detail at the same width 9 CHARACTER SETS + CUSTOM Standard, Fine (70-level gray), Blocks, Dots, Binary, Braille, CJK Strokes, Lines - and the fun one: Custom. Type any text as your brush and "paint" the video with your own name, a phrase, or a string of symbols. ONE-TAP CARTRIDGES MATRIX, GAME BOY, Amber Terminal, Newsprint, Blueprint, Braille, RGB Blocks, Ink Wash - switch the whole style like swapping a game cartridge. LIVE CAMERA The viewfinder turns into character art in real time. Hit record and a 10-second clip drops straight into the studio. EXPORT & SHARE - MP4 video - Animated GIF for chats - Transparent APNG sticker - Self-contained HTML player - double-click to play, rendered purely from characters and code, embeddable on your site - JSON frame data / plain text for developers and creators WHY ASCII MOTION - Fully offline: everything runs on-device, no network, no ads, zero data collection - Instant feedback: drag any parameter and preview live - Pixel feel: CRT scanlines, phosphor glow, 8-bit pixel font, tactile buttons Shoot a clip and watch it become living characters - that simple, that addictive.
