This weather app presents meteorological data and information for Israel and the Middle East, updated online every few minutes. The app includes an interactive rain radar map based on publicly available data from the Israel Meteorological Service (IMS), presented with a significantly enhanced visualization and many advanced features. Users can display their current location on the radar map, choose different background maps, adjust the transparency of rain layers, and more. In addition, the app features our flagship project, codenamed "Suzie" — presenting up-to-date meteorological data using colored heat maps that display accumulated precipitation over short and long time ranges, from the last hour up to seasonal accumulation. The two-dimensional maps are created using sophisticated interpolation methods applied to data from hundreds of meteorological stations, including stations operated by the Israel Meteorological Service, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Israel Water Authority, and privately owned stations. The app also provides high-resolution regional weather model forecasts. Users can select the forecast model, data type (temperature, precipitation, relative humidity, wind, predicted rain rate / reflectivity, and more), forecast range, and altitude level (surface, 850 millibars, 500 millibars, etc.).
