FLYING AREA INFORMATION The SHV’s complete collection of flying areas is conveniently and intuitively accessible via the map. Find new take-off and landing sites and all the information from local clubs that you need for a smooth flying day. All combined with Swisstopo’s familiar high-quality base maps. AIRSPACE The app not only gives you quick access to the official glider map, but also to the interactive airspace map that you know from the SHV website. With plenty of additional map content, such as air navigation obstacles or protected areas, you always know where you are allowed to fly. SHV PROFILE In the profile view, you will find not only your current membership details, but also your digital membership card and your hang gliding licence. CURRENT MEASUREMENT DATA A large number of measurement stations provide continuous data so that you can get a picture of the current situation. We are constantly working to connect further stations and increase coverage. For selected station pairs, there is also a clear display of the current pressure differences. FORECAST MAPS To provide an ideal understanding of the general weather situation, the app offers Europe-wide map views with useful combinations of temperatures, theta-E values and pressure distributions. A precipitation radar, forecasts for precipitation and cloud layers and, above all, wind maps at many different altitudes complete the offering in Switzerland and neighbouring countries. FÖHN & EMAGRAM FORECASTS Spot signs of Föhn using a combination of pressure-difference forecasts at different altitudes and selected emagram forecasts – easily accessible via the map. OUTLOOK Plan your next ideal flying day with the clear display of precipitation probabilities and the relative duration of sunshine over the coming days.
