Standard military pattern vest with standing collar and nine button front in officer's quality production of the popular period material white cotton drill. White cotton vests in both the military and civilian pattern were popular amongst officers, especially in the warmer climes and seasons, bedecking them with military buttons as well. This became such a common and desired practice, the Army later authorized them in regulations for such use, especially in the west and southwest. Made with two lower pockets and one breast pocket. Lined in front and back made of unbleached cotton.
