Learn to Skate USA, the premier basic skating program in the world, has teamed up with Rink Tank Interactive, LLC to bring you the Learn to Skate USA 'Skate Coach' app series for iOS! The Skate Coach app series was designed to help skaters, parents, instructors and officials understand the standards set for the Basic Skills Program through the use of high definition video examples. The Freeskate 1-6 app is divided into 4 areas of skating, including moves in the field, dance sequence, spins and jumps. The levels are designed to be MASTERED so when skaters graduate from Freeskate 6, they have a strong foundation on which to build. Whether in the comfort of your own home, traveling to the rink or during practice, you will always have a Skate Coach in your pocket! DISCLAIMER: Participating in ice skating has inherent risks, but with good technique and sound equipment these risks are mitigated. While the Skate Coach app series provides examples of skills performed correctly, they are NOT meant to supplement professional skating instruction! Take your ice skating journey to the next level with the Learn to Skate USA app! This app is a benefit of membership and free for all Learn to Skate USA members. Log in using your Learn to Skate USA membership number and start earning badges right away. Chart your progress and track your way to skill mastery using the digital record book, elevate your practice sessions with the daily practice tracker and earn badges for your trophy case with fun on- and off-ice challenges. The practice tracker is designed to help skaters of all levels track the quantity and overall quality of a curated list of skills during a single practice session. Skills may be added from the Learn to Skate USA skills library or manually entered as a custom skill. Skating Journey Badges and select Achievement Badges are linked to your enrollment record at your local Learn to Skate USA program. Passed a level but don’t see the badge in your trophy case? Check with your program director to ensure your skater record is up to date. On- and off-Ice badges are linked to in-app challenges and the off-ice warm up in the Activities section of the app. New on-ice challenges are released each month, so check back regularly to see if a new badge is up for grabs! Don’t forget to update your member profile with your skating interests. This helps the staff at Learn to Skate USA decide what types of challenges to release on a monthly basis.
