It is an ecological alternative to bottled water, which decreases the amount of plastic. It is a simple idea. Provided that somebody has got a reliable and trustworthy resource of excellent water at hand, they draw this water into their own bottle and do not buy a PET bottle. Free thanks to the partners of the project LOKNI is a network of smart filtration water dispensers at more than 50 faculties of Czech universities. It is the partners of the project who most often contribute to the price of the water for students. They are doing good and in return for that they get their space on the LCD of the LOKNI devices and in the banners of the application. At the moment LOKNI is within the reach of about 150 thousand students and the total of the savings of the PET bottles (0.5 l) is about 300,000 bottles per month. SDGs Awards LOKNI got to the semi-finals in the category Circular Economy (2022). In 2019 it got among the TOP 15 for achieving the global aims.
