TBI Navigator vs. Burn Nav Utilizzo e statistiche
The TBI Navigator App is the first product of the TBI Navigator Project and is targeted for decision support in the care and triage of patients with suspected traumatic brain injury (TBI) in a prehospital and/or prolonged care setting. The app helps users identify signs of brain injuries and provides recommendations for patient care.
The app is used for initial assessment and triage in patients suspected to have brain injuries ranging from mild concussions to cases requiring advanced neurosurgical care. The users of the TBI Navigator App include, but are not limited to, prehospital responders in disaster medicine, wilderness medicine, and prolonged field care/prolonged casualty care in the military. The app can also be used as first aid in sport activities that occur in areas remote from immediate medical care such as rock climbing, hiking, etc.
Users are able to record vital signs and patient notes in the app to keep track of a patient. The app walks the user through the following standardized assessments which, upon completion, provide recommendations to users for managing patients:
Glascow Coma Scale (GCS)
Tactical MACE (TMACE)
Alert, Voice, Pain, Unresponsive Scale (AVPU)
The TBI Navigator App compiles the results of the assessments into a “neuro medical record” of the injured person, improving ease of communication with emergency personnel upon arrival or via telemedicine.
