However, if the stowaway is thrown out into space, he/she will of course die. Still, considering the number of lives that can be saved, the only way to save as many lives as possible is to kill the stowaways and abandon them... This is the basic structure of "The Cold Equation" and the genre of "equation stories" derived from it. "Cold Bed on Route is inspired by "The Cold Equation" and its basic flow is in line with the "equation stories".
