First, waves of heavy bombers will shatter a narrow sector of the front allowing the American infantry punch into the breach, securing ground before German defenses can recover for a massive counterattack. Finally, armored divisions will pour through, aiming to seize the city of Avranches, the gateway to Brittany and the liberation of France.
