Many times the survey requires evidence of having purchased the product or service, related to which the user is filling out a survey. This foreground service allows the user to upload their bills in two straightforward convenient ways: a) capturing a photo of a physical bill where FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC is needed, or b) using our app's built-in screenshot feature for e-bills where FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION is needed. This facilitates quicker uploads and helps users complete the survey efficiently and earn rewards effortlessly by synchronizing their bill data with our backend servers. Use of Foreground_ Service: Our app employs this foreground service specifically to handle data synchronization tasks associated with the survey bill feature. Here's how it works: - Initiation and Process: When a user uploads a bill (either a physical photo or a screenshot), the app initiates a foreground service (FOREGROUND_SERVICE_DATA_SYNC or FOREGROUND_SERVICE_MEDIA_PROJECTION) to manage the image processing and synchronization with our backend server. This service is crucial for maintaining a reliable and uninterrupted syncing process. - Necessity / benefits for the user: a. Responsiveness and Reliability: The service ensures that uploads are completed seamlessly, even if users navigate away from the app. This is particularly important on devices running Android 10 and newer, where background execution limits could otherwise disrupt the operation. b. Battery Optimization and Doze Mode: By utilizing this foreground service, we prevent automatic termination of the sync process due to battery optimizations or Doze mode constraints. This guarantees that users experience no interruptions in the rewards accumulation process relating to the survey bill upload. - User-Initiated or is Perceptible: The activation of this foreground service is always initiated by a user action—specifically when they choose to upload a bill. The ongoing notification keeps them informed, and they can pause or stop the upload if desired, maintaining transparency and control over the process. - User Awareness and capability to stop the service: Users are continuously informed of the ongoing upload process through a persistent notification, ensuring they are aware of the background operation and can manage it if necessary. In addition, we have updated the video demonstration in the Play Console to clearly depict this foreground service's role in the core functionality of bill uploads and rewards as these are required for completion of surveys. Further, The Play Store app description has been revised to accurately present the necessity and benefits of this foreground service.
