POSITION SUMMARY General Laborers perform various manual labor tasks such as loading and unloading materials. You will use power tools, electrical equipment, and manual tools to aid in project completion. Success in this role will be demonstrated by your ability to complete tasks in a timely manner while minimizing work hazards. Work Schedule: 1st Shift (7:00am – 3:30pm) 2nd Shift (3:00pm – 11:30am) 3rd Shift (10pm – 6:30am) ESSENTIAL TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Operates machinery Lifts and transports heavy objects Sorts and loads scrap plastic onto conveyor belt by type, observing plastic characteristics Removes all plastic that does not meet run orders Separates and stacks excess large and small pallets Separates and stacks excess good and bad gaylord boxes Communicates with team lead about material issues Maintains cleanliness in work areas Participates in cleaning, organizing, and sweeping production work cell, including underneath all machinery and conveyor belts, as well as forklift box banding area. Utilize and operates hand tools such as grinders, sawzall, and basic hand tools Escalates issues to shift supervisor QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS Education and Experience: High School diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three months related experience preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge, or an Aptitude and Willingness to Learn or obtain: -Lock-out training (provided by Bata Plastics, Inc.) -Confined Space training (provided by Bata Plastics, Inc.) -Hand Tool training (provided by Bata Plastics, Inc.) -Plastics 101 (provided by Bata Plastics, Inc.) -Basic Trouble Shooting Skills and Abilities: Communication Skills Communicate effectively with employees from varied backgrounds, cultures, and experiences.
