Description This mouth-blown, handmade reproduction carafe was inspired by similar pieces found in bars and bistros throughout Europe in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Carafes generally sat on bistro tables and were commonly used by the customer in preparing their own drink, particularly in the making of an absinthe. Besides being used to hold water, these carafes were also popular promotional and marketing tools used mostly by alcohol manufacturers. Dripping water by a carafe was the most utilized method of adding water to the absinthe during the Belle Époque. The correct technique is to slowly, continuously drip the water onto the sugar cube until has completely dissolved from the spoon, and fallen into the glass of absinthe. Measures approximately 9.25" (23.3 cm) tall. Base measures approximately 4.375" (11.1 cm) in diameter. Holds approximately 25 fl oz (.73 L). Hand wash only. Mouth-Blown, clear glass. Handmade. The recipe is primarily focused on Absinthes iconic ingredient: Wormwood, also known as “La Grande Absinthe”. The plants are cultivated on the fertile fields of the distillery, which guarantees superior quality. Additionally, all processes orient on 19th century traditions: Like in the old days, the harvest is done by hand and the wormwood sprigs dry for several months in a wooden hut, the so called the “séchoir”. True to the original is as well, the production process. The recipe consists of a decent portion of wormwood (artemisia absinthium), which is carefully blended with several other traditional herbs, including green anise and fennel plus the artemisia species genepi. For the making of the final spirit, copper stills are used for distillation. After distillation, the initially crystal-clear spirit is macerated with selected coloring herbs. They give ALANDIA Verte its natural green color. As direct sunlight would harm ALANDIA Verte’s natural green color, each bottle is wrapped in paper. Please store the bottle after opening in a dark place. We recommend ALANDIA Verte to first-timers and connoisseurs alike. Beginners will most likely appreciate the fresh taste of this Absinthe, not overpowering on fennel, therefore reducing the
