The Energy 2040 Commission In 2012, in the wake of the Great Recession, the Alliance convened the Commission on National Energy Efficiency Policy, bringing together leaders from business, government, and academia with the goal to double the nation’s energy productivity by 2030. This paper studies the potential impacts of wildfires on the electric power grid, and explores the challenges and solutions for reducing the intensity, duration and impact of this unfavorable event on the grid.
