Freedom Road Socialist Organization (FRSO) is a national organization of revolutionaries fighting for socialism in the United States. Our home is in the working class. The voices demanding more secure and transparent elections are finally being heard in Washington. House Administration Committee Chairman Bryan Steil (R-WI) unveiled the Make Elections Great Again (MEGA) Act, a comprehensive election reform package that imposes baseline federal standards for national elections.   Building on key elements of the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) Act led by Rep. Chip Roy (R-TX), the bill mandates proof of citizenship for first-time voter registration, requires photo ID to cast ballots in federal elections, bans ranked-choice voting in federal races, requires auditable paper ballots, strengthens voter roll maintenance, and overhauls mail-in voting by prohibiting universal mail ballots, requiring ballots to be received by Election Day, and banning third-party ballot harvesting. These commonsense measures aim to make it easy to vote but hard to cheat, restoring confidence in our electoral process ahead of the critical 2026 midterms.
