The Board The Throttle is a very versatile longboard. In fact, it’s not really a longboard. At 34″ long, it’s getting into mini-cruiser territory. But then, maybe it’s a bit long compared to most other mini-cruisers – so we’ll call it a “maxi cruiser”. Or maybe a “mini longboard.” Whatever you call it – the Throttle is definitely Rad. At 34×9.7125″, it’s long enough to go fast, and long enough for a bit more room for your feet than a mini-cruiser. But it’s also nice and short – easy to lug around than a full-sized longboard, and more manoeuvrable too. Split Angle shred sled We’ve chosen the Throttle as the first board in our lineup to get the Split Angle Trucks treatment. Whatever setup you go with, all Throttles now come with a Sabre 48 degree truck on the front, and a 28 degree on the rear. Split Angle trucks completely change this board! It’s easier to pump, carves deeper than before, it turns harder AND it’s more stable at speed. Split angle trucks are a true game changer… on a smaller board like the Throttle they really allow the board to shine. You can read more about split angles here. Tweaked to perfection This is the second incarnation of the Throttle in recent years, and we’ve made a few changes. We’ve made the deck an inch shorter, both in overall length and wheelbase. More responsive for pumptracks and tighter urban environments. Easier to stash under your desk at work or sneak into the pub. Better for ollies. We’ve also bought the width down from 9.75″ to 9.125″, a subtle change but it creates a standing platform that you can stand “on” rather than “in.” It makes the deck more comfortable for longer distance cruises by reducing the extremity of concave, without affecting the leverage over the trucks too much. We’ve added wheel wells, two sets of them to fit Street trucks and Longboard (RKP) trucks. Bigger wheels and lower ride heights are now on the cards.
