The Purchase Fire Department responded to a total of 789 alarms throughout our district and within our automatic/mutual aid areas in 2022. This was a record for the number of alarms in a year for us during our 84-year history. To say 2022 was a busy year for the Purchase Fire Department is an understatement. In between running a record call volume, we implemented several new programs to strengthen our response capabilities as our community continues to grow. We added a new Seagrave Ladder to our fleet in January, placed Marine 41 into service in November, and ordered a new Seagrave Engine in December. As we begin the new year, we wanted to recap the efforts and commitment of our members to the residents of Purchase and surrounding communities in 2022. It’s not just about the calls of service. The commitment and time invested in training, equipment, and firehouse duties are daily occurrences. The staffing of our all-volunteer firehouse twenty-four hours a day, 7 days a week keeps the organization functioning and its members best prepared to handle those calls of service. We are proud to present a snapshot of the activity and commitment our members invested in 2022. We are excited for what is in store for the Purchase Fire Department in 2023. We would like to thank all our residents and businesses for their continued support the Department receives to deliver the best possible service to our community.
