Cooking methods involve steaming, boiling, or baking.  What are Bairdi Crabs and where are they caught? Bairdi Snow crabs are caught in the Bering Sea and the Gulf of Alaska. Ours is landed in Kodiak, Alaska where it is pre-cooked and frozen. Bairdi Crab are found at sandy bottoms at depths of 30 to 1,500 feet. They are smaller in size and less red than king crabs and, instead of the king’s three sets of walking legs, these crabs have four sets, plus a pair of claws.
