93%We're really proud that the Liggoo light set has, for the second year running been listed by the 'IndyBest' review from The Independent newspaper as one of the top 10 torches! Last year it was awarded 'best buy' and they described the Liggoo as being ‘by far and away the most versatile torch here, there is nothing the Liggoo can’t do.” This year, it's been given the accolade of 'best torch for DIY' and the review says: "highly recommended if you're after a torch that can serve many purposes." (if you want to read the full review - it's here: The IndyBest review) Being able to see what you are doing is critical to an effective tinker... if you’ve ever spent time under a car trying to see a nut or under the kitchen sink fixing a leak then you’ll know that head torches make sense. Most head torches are designed for the outdoor market - for use whilst hiking or around campsites. That’s great - but they are often over designed, have a focused beam pattern and a lot of the time are too bright. If you are looking for a bolt head 2 ft in front of you, having enough Lumens to light up the side of a mountain can actually be an issue. I’ve found Liggoo to work perfectly as a head torch or as a spot light using its hook or magnetic clip. The main torch unit uses 3 LED's to produce a wide beam pattern that's perfect for illuminating your work area. The torch has four settings - three different brightnesses and a flash setting. These are selected by a pressure switch in the centre of the light. These sorts of switches are a little unusual and there is a knack to using them that can take a couple of attempts to get used to. The brightest setting is 150 Lumens which gives a 1.5hr run time - 6 hrs on the lowest setting. Recharging is via the supplied micro-USB cable. Whilst I much prefer a rechargable light there is one draw back to them - you need to have a power source to charge them. I mainly use mine around the workshop and house, so charging is not an issue.
