Cancer patients suffer from the toxic effects of chemotherapy and radiation, including fatigue, lowered immunity, organ impairment, and in some cases, a hastened death. In China, all cancer patients are encouraged to combine Western therapy with Chinese herbal medicine. These have been shown to reduce the side effects of nausea and fatigue, to enhance recovery following chemo or radiation, and to actually enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy. This workshop will look at Chinese herbal formulas that can benefit different stages of the recovery of cancer, as well as post-treatment enhancement of vital qi.
