We grow a crop of approximately 25,000 fruit trees each year in our fields here in the Vale of Pickering. Rootstocks are planted in March, trees are budded in August (or grafted the following February/March) and then the plants are grown on, carefully weeded and pruned, until they are finally ready for sale as bare root plants. All our top fruit trees are supplied as bare root trees during the winter months (between November and March). Trees are lifted to order, sent out within 24 hours of being lifted, and packed with extreme care so they arrive with you in perfect condition ready for planting. Please be aware that there may be a delay in sending your plants to you. At the start of lifting in November we will already have a long queue of customers waiting for their trees which have been pre-ordered over the summer months. We will always do our best to fit in with your timing schedule, but at busy periods in the year this may not always be possible. We endeavour to send out trees at a time which is good for planting.
