Die Goldmünze Vreneli ist bei Sammlern und Anlegern eine der bekanntesten Schweizer Anlagemünzen. 1897 löste das Goldvreneli mit neuer Motivgestaltung die zwischen 1883 und 1896 geprägte 20-Franken-Goldmünze Helvetia (Helvetia = Schweiz, Auflage 1,75 Mio. Münzen) ab. Zwischen 1897 und 1949 wurden ca. 58,63 Millionen Stück des beliebten eidgenössischen Goldvreneli geprägt. Trotz, dass der Name dieser Goldmünze erst vor dem 2. Weltkrieg offiziell in Vreneli geändert (und 1943 erstmals schriftlich verbürgt) wurde, werden heute alle in diesem Zeitraum geprägten Münzen als Vreneli bezeichnet. Die Anlagemünze hat eine Feinheit von 900/1000. Auf der Wertseite ist das von Eichenzweigen umrankte Schweizer Wappen und die Jahreszahl abgebildet, auf der Motivseite ist das Portrait einer jungen Frau mit Haarkranz im Profil vor Alpenpanorama.
