Randolph “Randy” L Robinson, 82 years old, passed away Sunday February, 8 2026 at home surrounded by his family. Born in Kansas City Missouri to Letha and Everett Robinson, he spent his early years in Iowa, moving to Lee’s Summit when he was 8 years old. Randy graduated from Lee’s Summit High School and then Central Missouri State University (CMSU), now known as University of Central Missouri with a degree in Chemistry, but flying was his passion. At CMSU, he met Rosemary, whom he married, and they were lifelong partners for 60 years Randy learned to fly during college so that he could become a Naval Aviator. While in the Navy, Randy served two long cruises and many short cruises. Upon an honorable Navy discharge, Randy worked for a few years at Western Electric before starting his career with the Federal Aviation Administration. Randy’s career led him to jobs in Iowa, St Charles and eventually back to Kansas City, where he settled in Lee’s Summit. Randy and Rosemary spent two weeks each summer in Oshkosh WI attending the fly in air show hosted by the Experimental Aircraft Association.  Randy loved attending every year and walked many miles on the flightline taking pictures of all the airplanes. Upon retirement, Randy accumulated 42 years of service to our nation through his 5 years in the Navy and his federal employment.  His retirement allowed more time with grandchildren attending sporting and school events.  He also had more time to serve his community through the Church and other organizations. He cared for his church family and we know he joined the Lord Jesus Christ. Randy will be greatly missed by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Jay Brown.  He is survived by his wife, Rosemary: his children Rob (Lori) Robinson; Renee (KR) Hood, Rick (Chandra) Robinson, and Ryan (Giovanni) Robinson: his grandchildren, Kasia Hood, Kenyon (Mackenzie) Hood, Nathan Robinson, Tessa Robinson, Jonah Robinson, and Gemma Robinson.
