Pixel Towers is an experimental mix of Tower-defense strategy and RPG, with elements of stealth and puzzles, taking a place in a very much typical Dungeon, infested with bandits, demons and other monsters. The game itself is a fork of a roguelike - Shattered Pixel Dungeon, completely reworked and overhauled into another genre. There was a legend about an artifact, which can grant any wish, the Amulet of Yendor. Once upon a time, a hero came into the Dungeon to collect it. He defeated each and every foe in his path, slain Ancient Godlike beings; everybody, who stood in his path have fallen. After the Amulet was recovered went back to the surface, with the artifact in his hands... ...however, the legend was a lie. The Amulet was not some powerful wish-granting trinket, it was a Seal. A Seal to keep the demonic beings of the Dungeon at bay. Now, each and every monstrosity the hero once defeated is not only back, but is much stronger, the Old Eldritch God, the sole reason there are monsters inside the Dungeon, is at his peak power. A mere hero won't be of use here. So a solution was found, invented were the Towers - stationary constructs of great (or not so) power, which could defend specific areas from monster invasions and shoot any intruder down. Except this time, we are the intruders - the game revolves around setting up tower-filled bases right inside the Dungeon, with new monster waves striking them each new depth. And so, you - that exact hero who stole the Amulet, descend into the dungeon again, one last time. Your main goal is to undo your mistake, seal the Ancient God once again, and bring peace to the Mortal Realm once and for all. The game includes: - a system of waves, where monster legions try to kill you - a system of wave cooldowns, during which you loot the map for resources in any way you wish to (guns blazing and slaughter of chest hoarder mobs, through map teleportation, stealth and backstabbing, alone or with bodyguards, you can even spam-place cannons on enemy bases) - 30 hand-made stages, each with several playable modes (normal, Hardmode with some buffs and effects, Challenge with a special twist to gameplay) - many bosses and minibosses, a ton of new enemies - items, HUNDREDS of and EVEN MORE items: scrolls, potions, weaponry and powerful artifacts - 8 playable classes, selectable towers with upgrade trees and special active abilities (for ex.: launching a nuke onto an enemy horde) - reworked ui with elements of customization, a system of dialogues - Rat king himself humiliating and helping you See you in the Dungeon!
