Hews 2 is a Hacker News client with some handy features and lots of customizable settings. This app is written in Flutter. • UI and content customization Home page sections - Display the HN sections (Ask HN, Show HN, etc) you want as top tabs, or bottom tabs, or both. Typography - Customizable: -- font type, -- font size, -- font weight, -- line height, -- paragraph height, -- edge padding, for: -- story metadata, -- story content, -- comment metadata, -- comment content, -- comment code content. Plus, support almost all fonts from Google fonts. - 3 story layout styles. - Custom date format. - Show downvote as number. - Option to block users’ comments, or show notes on users’ comment. - Preferred hand Theme and color palette - Support light and dark themes, and almost all parts (text, background, etc) are customizable based on Material Design guideline. • Control Comment collapse - Collapse comments by: -- children, -- siblings, -- global level (1 or 2). Navigation - Option to show a floating navigation button, supports: -- scroll down page by dragging, -- scroll down page by holding, -- scroll to next page by clicking. Also supports click to next comment. Actions - Customizable quick actions. - Customizable menu options. • Other features Advanced search Supports search by: -- author, -- comment count range, -- date range, -- keyword, -- type, -- upvote count range. Login-required features - Support favorite, upvote, downvote, flag, and check personal data. Comment reply notification - Get push notification when new comments posted: -- by subscribed users, -- to subscribed users, -- to subscribed stories / comments. In-app browser - Support custom scripts. Build in: -- redirect to archive, -- remove sticky elements. - Support custom URL pattern redirect. Usage timer - Option to display this session / this day usage time at title bar. This app is currently in beta phase. It will be open-sourced when the iOS version published on App Store.
