At her community pharmacy in Winston-Salem, NC, Ahunna Freeman reimagines the way that traditional pharmacies operate and works to flip them into hubs of clinical care. As the founder, owner, and Director of Clinical Services at Southside Discount Pharmacy, Ahunna focuses on areas of care like patient education, prevention, and medication therapy management. With her services, she enables patients to play an active role in their own health and empowers pharmacies to help them do it. In addition to her role at Southside, Ahunna is the founder of My Sweet Life, a diabetes management program, and is the clinical pharmacist at an independent family practice in Winston-Salem. Outside of the pharmacy, she enjoys running, making her native Nigerian dishes, and spending time with family.
