Tuia is your daily prayer app. Tuia gathers people in prayer and reminds us that though we may be scattered (distant physically), we are one in prayer. The Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia is made up of three strands: Tikanga Māori, Tikanga Polynesia, and Tikanga Pākehā. These three strands are intended to honour different cultural ways of following Jesus. Tuia is intended to weave those strands together: to celebrate our languages and our prayers. The included Bible translations are • Te Paipera Tapu (MRI2012), • New Living Translation (NLT), and • New Revised Standard Version (NRSV). The daily readings follow the schedule published in Te Maramataka (The Lectionary) by the Anglican Church in Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia. This schedule primarily follows the Revised Common Lectionary and Daily Eucharistic Lectionary, providing semi-continuous readings for the Old and New Testaments. The Revised Common Lectionary is a 3-year cycle used in many Christian churches, of differing traditions, throughout the world. On days where the Church remembers saints and martyrs, be inspired with short biographies and special Bible readings from For All the Saints.
