Morpho is the game of finding beginnings and ends that words have in common. But in most of the puzzles, these beginnings/ends are not simple prefixes/suffixes! Are you wondering where the name came from? “Morpho” is a genus of butterfly, the most recognizable of which is the morpho peleides. The words in Morpho are styled to bear a passing resemblance to this beautiful butterfly’s iridescent blue wings. Additionally, “morphology” can be the study of the forms of living organisms (in biology), or it can be the study of the forms of words (in linguistics). “Morpho” is a nod to all of these!
