To enhance your user experience, when you join our marketing campaigns, games, or use interactive features in the ZA Bank App, we may collect your step count data from your device.
On iOS, after you log in and grant authorisation, your step count will be synced from Apple Health (HealthKit). This data may come from your iPhone, Apple Watch, compatible wearables, or apps connected to Apple Health. On Android, after you log in and grant authorisation, your step count will be synced from your chosen app (e.g. Health Connect). You can connect your wearable/fitness device to that app for syncing.
Minimum permissions and user control: We request read-only access to your step count data and will not collect other data, e.g. heart rate, sleep data, or location. You can revoke or adjust permissions at any time via your device settings/health platforms, and disable related features in the ZA Bank App. If your permission is not granted or later revoked, your step count will no longer be synced. Some interactive features may be limited as a result, but this won't affect your use of ZA Bank's core banking functions. We only use step count data for the interactive features described above, and not for personalised ads. We use industry-standard security measures to protect this data.
