The game of Durak is familiar to everyone and is probably the most popular card game in some countries. We’ve created Durak 2.0 – no registration, no internet required. Thank you for helping us make Durak 2.0 even better! Game rules: Basics Deck: typically 36 cards (6…Ace). A 52-card deck is possible by agreement. Rank order: 6 < 7 < 8 < 9 < 10 < Jack < Queen < King < Ace. Trump: suit shown by the bottom card of the stock; it stays face up. Deal: 6 cards to each player, then reveal trump. The player with the lowest trump starts (or to dealer’s left on ties). Objective: shed all cards; the last player holding cards is the durak (“fool”). Players: 2–6. Turn & defense (both variants) Attack: attacker plays 1 card against the defender (the player to their left). Defense: beat with a higher card of the same suit or any trump; trumps are beaten by higher trumps. Adding cards: after the first attack in a round, others may add cards only of ranks already on the table, in turn order. Limits: The defender never has to face more cards than they currently hold. Total cards on the table per round: max 6 (with a 36-card deck). Taking: if any card remains unbeaten, the defender takes all cards; next attacker is the player to the taker’s left. All beaten: if all are beaten, cards go to the discard; the defender becomes the next attacker. Replenish: after the round, draw up to 6 cards in turn order starting from the attacker; the defender draws last. Variants Podkidnoy (Classic “Adding” Durak) No passing/transfer. The defender either beats or takes. Adding follows the general restrictions above. Perevodnoy (Passing/Transfer Durak) Pass/transfer: if the first attack card’s rank matches a card in the defender’s hand, the defender may pass the attack to the next player by playing a card of the same rank (suit irrelevant). Now that next player is the defender. Passing is allowed only to the next player and only before any taking/discard ends the round. Multiple passes are allowed provided: the new defender can continue the pass, the table never exceeds 6 cards total, the current defender holds at least as many cards as are on the table. After a pass, adding works as usual. Ending the game When the stock is exhausted, no more drawing; you play with what you hold. Players who shed all cards are out; play continues until one remains — the durak.
